Media Release: UFest Edmonton Ukrainian Festival announces this year’s entertainment lineup, guest cultural community and charitable partner

Edmonton – May 20, 2025 – Kick off Edmonton’s first festival of the season on Friday, May 30 and Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Borden Park with UFest Edmonton Ukrainian Festival—the largest of its kind in Western Canada. Enjoy two days of non-stop entertainment across two outdoor stages, featuring both local and national performers. Bring your lawn chair and let lively Ukrainian music, high-kicking dancers, and vibrant costumes lift your spirits. Explore the festival grounds with 16 food vendors, over 30 artisan marketplace vendors, and a licensed bar serving craft beer, wine, and ciders.
Admission to UFest is FREE! Kids activities, crafts, petting zoo and other family focused activities are available at no charge. Tour the Heritage Pavilion where you can learn unique facts about Ukraine and Ukrainian culture or the Community Pavilion where 15 organizations will provide information about their programs and services. Bring your curiosity and spend an enjoyable afternoon learning and experiencing Ukrainian culture.

For those who enjoy the night life, UFest After Dark is for you. Each night features popular Ukrainian Zabava (zabava means dance party in Ukrainian) bands that will get you out on the dance floor. UB Zabava Band and SLOOHAI from Winnipeg will keep you moving into the evening. UFest After Dark begins after 9:00 pm each day.
Each year UFest invites another cultural community to be part of the fun! This year’s featured culture is the Italian-Canadian community. The Italian Appennini Dancers of Edmonton and singers Andrea Pinna and Emilio Demercato are this year’s guest performers. Visit the many Italian-Canadian organizations in the Guest Culture tent, and experience calzone and gnocchi demonstrations.
This year’s charitable partner is “Canada-Ukraine Foundation”. UFest will be collecting donations to towards their “Every Child Deserves a Future” campaign to support essential programs for vulnerable Ukrainian children.
